HDMI SDI Cross Converter
Many video devices nowadays come equipped with HDMI input or output. This is very convenient for consumers, because it makes it easy to connect a laptop to a TV or projector, for example. However, this signal type is only suitable for home use. HDMI isn’t the most reliable and also isn’t suitable for spanning long distances. This is also the reason why professional equipment comes equipped with SDI connections. It goes without saying that you will need to use SDI cabling as well, but this makes it possible to send video signals over longer distances. Despite this, it often happens that SDI and HDMI connections need to be used at the same time. The only way to make this work is by connecting them using a Decimator converter.
12G Cross Converter Features
This Decimator 12G-Cross converter is a true all-rounder when it comes to converting video signals. Whereas other suppliers limit themselves to one-way traffic, this Decimator converter can convert both HDMI signals to SDI, as well as vice versa- and that's not all! This device can even do both at the same time. This converter can also be used as an SDI splitter.
This all-rounder has 1 HDMI input, 1 HDMI output, 1 (SD/HD/3G/6G/12G) SDI input and 4 (SD/HD/3G/6G/12G) SDI outputs. Using the illuminated display and buttons you can very easily set it up however you want to use it. No difficult dipswitches or need to change settings- ideal.
Decimator Converter
Do you need to connect a device with an HDMI output to a device with a single SDI input? Then this converter is the best possible solution. If you’d like to connect a device with only an SDI output to a device with an HDMI input, this converter is also the perfect solution. In fact, this 12G-Cross can perform these two types of conversions simultaneously, so a separate converter is not needed for each conversion. Efficient, right?
This converter can deal with 351 input formats. What’s more, 57 different output resolutions can then be created. This adds up to an impressive total of 20.007 conversions! This converter can make changes in resolution as well as frame rate. This is unique because most converters only convert the signal type based on 'in = out'. This Decimator makes it possible to specify which resolution the converter should produce.
Decimator Splitter
It’s particularly useful that one is able to use this converter as an SDI splitter. Moreover, this converter has 5 SDI connections. By using the converter as a distributor you can split SDI signals to 4 lines (1:4). This is ideal if you need to provide multiple screens with the same video signal over a long distance.
Cabling
In order to prevent any malfunctions, we recommend using high quality SDI cabling. It will always be somewhat risky to send video signals over long distances. By using high quality cabling you can eliminate this risk and simply sit back and enjoy the image without any risk of interference. If you do not have the right cabling, you can of course rent it from us. Feel free to contact us for the possibilities. We are more than happy to provide you with advice.
