HDMI 15 metres
You’ve probably heard of HDMI. This type of cabling is used nowadays on all kinds of multimedia devices. You can't walk into an electronics store without encountering all kinds of devices with this type of input signal. After years of different types of cabling, there is finally a standard, so it’s unsurprising that it’s everywhere. Whereas in the past separate cables had to be connected for images with audio, nowadays this is no longer necessary. HDMI is capable of transmitting video, audio and data. A single cable is therefore often sufficient to connect a TV screen or projector to a playback device.
HDMI Properties
However, there are also various slight differences within the HDMI category. Different video resolutions send different amounts of data. A lower resolution has less data to transmit than a higher resolution. Nowadays you still encounter a lot of HDMI 1.4 cables. These are actually only suitable for resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 pixels, which is a normal HD image. However, with the advent of 4K screens and laptops that transmit this resolution, it is also necessary to adjust the cables accordingly. That’s why we exclusively use HDMI 2.0 cables. These can handle full 4K resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 pixels with a 60Hz refresh rate.
