HDMI 3 metres
Choosing the right video cabling used to be quite tricky. Over the years, many different types of cabling have been developed. Existing cables were always further developed to be able to send more data. However, each type of cabling also had its own limitations. There was in fact no standard and equipment was often equipped with various connections. Fortunately, this is standardized in this day and age. Usually, professional equipment is equipped with HDMI connections. This makes choosing cabling much easier. TV's, projectors, video walls and all kinds of playback equipment make use of HDMI connections.
HDMI Properties
Be this as it may, there are also various kinds of HDMI cabling. Depending on the type, the cables can only send a certain amount of data. We carry so-called 2.0 HDMI cables. This means in practice that these cables can display resolutions of up to 4096 x 2160 at 60Hz. This is sufficient, because you will be able to get everything out of our TV screens, which are capable of displaying the same maximum resolution. Though it’s possible to display 4K resolution, this cable can also be used to display lower resolutions such as UHD with 3840 x 2160 pixels, or a normal 1920 x 1080 pixel HD resolution.
However, HDMI cables also have their own limitations. These 'normal' cables are not suitable for sending signals over longer distances. These cables can be up to around 15 metres long before they lose the ability to relay the signal properly. If you want to distribute video signal over a longer distance, you’ll need to switch to SDI cabling.
Use
HDMI cabling is more vulnerable than other types in our range. These cables consist of 19 separate cores. This is more than most cables in the audiovisual industry and that makes this type of cable more vulnerable. Always make sure that technicians and the public can’t trip over this cable. It’s important to always tape these neatly along the edge of the location so that they are neatly concealed.
