PowerCON TRUE1 Cable
After years of success with their well-known (in the industry) PowerCON connections it was time for something new. Neutrik has finally come up with a new version: the TRUE1 connector. Nothing has changed in the utility of the cable. Just like with the normal PowerCON cable, all you have to do is connect a device to the mains- provided, of course, that the device has a PowerCON TRUE1 connector.
PowerCON TRUE1 Properties
Now you must be curious what the difference is between this and the normal PowerCON connectors, but first we have to mention something very important. The equipment you want to connect will determine the type of cabling you need. If your equipment has the old PowerCON connectors, you simply cannot use these new cables. The old and new connectors are simply not interchangeable.
Now that that’s over with, we can talk about the difference. A big annoyance with the old connectors was that they could not be connected with one another. As is the case with HDMI for example, the connectors were always 'male' and the chassis parts on equipment were always 'female'. Connections can only be made by connecting a male connector to a female connector. Male to male or female to female simply wasn’t possible. These TRUE1 cables use both male and female connectors and chassis parts, so you get cables that can be connected to each other- just like Schuko cabling. This means that these cables can be used with extensions.
In addition, this new TRUE1 cabling is also IP65 classified. This means that you can use the equipment outdoors. A little rain won't have any negative effect on the operation of the equipment, as long as the rest of your equipment is also weather resistant.
Cable
This cable is suitable for powering audiovisual equipment. On one end it has a Schuko connector to connect to the mains. On the other end you will find a female PowerCON TRUE1 connector for connecting to the device.
