Videowall 5 x 5
Video wall: a term you’ll encounter often when preparing your exhibition stand. But what exactly does it mean? And how can you implement such a wall at your exhibition stand or event? We’ll clarify all of this for you below- read on!
A video wall is comparable to a very large TV screen. Since it’s practically impossible to transport such a large screen, it’s divided into several smaller screens. These screens together form one image, which appear to be shown on a massive TV, even though in reality this is not the case.
Video wall
This video wall is made out of a total of 25 screens: 5 wide and 5 high. Of course, the aspect ratio remains unchanged. This means that it’s still possible to connect your laptop and play a video just like you would with a regular TV screen.
A video wall can’t consist of just any old TV screens; there are a few conditions that the screens must meet. Aesthetically, it’s important that the edges of the screens aren’t too thick, otherwise there will be numerous and very noticeable horizontal and vertical black lines all over the image. Our video wall screens therefore have an edge of just 5.2 mm. This means that even when set up as a video wall, the edges of the screens are barely noticeable.
By attaching 25 screens in a 5 x 5 setup, a complete video wall with a diagonal of no less than 584 cm is created. All these screens have their own video processor built in. Each screen is also provided with the complete video signal. However, in the settings of each screen, you can determine which part of the video signal said screen is to show. When all screens have been provided with the right settings, an impressive total image is created.
Mounted or on a stand?
A video wall is often used during trade fairs and conventions. Thanks to the reasonable price and large scope, this is an ideal tool to convey your message to the public. This video wall can be used mounted or on a stand.
Stands are often used at conventions and seminars. Mounting a video wall to a wall is not often an option at a hotel or convention centre. Using a stand means that you won’t have to be dependent on the options available at your venue. At trade fairs, stand walls are often built by a stand builder. In these cases, you will have enough say in how your wall is constructed to make sure that the wall is suitable for hanging a video wall. You must first mount the video wall onto a frame, which is subsequently mounted to the stand wall. This means that it is of the utmost importance that your stand wall is strong: this video wall weighs at least 250 kg!
Controlling
Due to the fragility of these special screens, we always advise letting us take care of assembly. This ensures that the assembly is both correct and safe.
A laptop is required to control the video wall. We always recommend renting a
laptop with a video wall. Our
laptops are equipped with essential software used to control the screens. Does the power of the exhibition stand go off at night or does the power occasionally fail unexpectedly? Don't worry. This video wall will remember all of your settings. The video wall will even start up automatically when the power is switched back on, after which the chosen video will start playing immediately. You don't have to do anything. It’s really that simple.
